making maya

This is a low-budget indie about a typical coming-of-age lesbian movie. Focusing not on Maya’s sexuality, but mainly discovering herself — what’s her passion in life, what she wanna do for college, how to take care of her mother’s addiction, and her feelings for a girl and/or maybe a boy next door (I am trying to keep it vague so i don’t spoil it for you).

Engaging drama… A knockout performance Amy Minderhout carries the pic on her shoulders –Lael Loewenstein, Variety

Maya (Amy Minderhout), a blonde and beautiful high school senior, lives in a sleepy Oregon town, but still dares to dream of a career in basketball. Along with her best friend and fellow athlete Mars (Desmond Faison), she trains like there’s no tomorrow. But despite her basketball talent, Maya worries about the future since she has no scholarships. A basketball contest may be her ticket to college. With the help of Mars, she decides to enter with him a free-throw contest that could lead to the basketball career of her dreams. But Maya’s life takes a turn with the arrival of Sam (Sara Taylor), a sexy young woman who sparks unexpected desires of romance and sexuality in Maya. As she spends more time with Sam, her practicing sessions with Mars start to slack ultimately jepordizing the basketball contest and her life dreams. (more…)

The title of my review says it all. This movie sucked! I guess the reason there aren’t any reviews for this movie is becuase everyone was smart enough not to watch it.
