The Second Coming Review

THE SECOND COMING is a triumphant mixture of science fiction, political agitprop, and experrimental montage as timely today as when it was made almost ten years ago. In the near future, Christan fundamentalists attempt a coup d’etat in the U.S.. Meanwhile, Carlos and Ben, two high school classmates in New York, are falling in love despite homophobic, racist and anti-Semitic attacks against their peers. Together they join forces with an underground resistance led by teenagers who produce and broadcast videos challenging the fundamentalists. A black and white mood piece at the forefront of narrative cinema, THE SECOND COMING is a very angry, sometimes funny and poignantly hopeful drama that will speak to your worst nightmaes about the religious right.

You can see from the title, it will not check to a rave. "The Second Coming," says Carlos and Ben, who fell in vivo in the school, in spite of racism and fundamentalism is in America. What is a good idea fiascoand looks like a film by a group of high school students, which included a camera and simply said, has to make a film.
If religious fanatics take over the United States are beginning to rewrite the constitution to be based on the Bible and gays, lesbians and Jews, and everyone has to be a Christian (sounds a bit ", as Arkansas). What I can say that one of the worst movies I've ever seen is. Actually, I crawled as I watched and sometimes close to extinctionbut I continue to hope that the interesting premise that could make a movie interesting, but no luck. The acting is incredibly positive, so bad that I like to say that action. In fact, often something good in every movie I see, but I can not say here. Let's say that Jack Walsh, the director used the film to bring its political ideology (which is super paranoid), but fails. Briefs documentary footage, which adds nothing and there are scenes of povertyseem thrown in just for some reason. He tries hard to her message, which I visited in the first two minutes. It goes from bad to terrible for the permanent unwatchable (I know that I am me).
This is a plus. A bonus feature, "A Letter to Rock" is very moving. E 'was done in 1994, before taking the AIDS virus, with the cocktail of drugs and shows how things hopelessly in the sensitivity and emotion. We were the forces that were, we were ignored by the convictedand I remember it very well. For the purchase of this DVD alone is worth it. We must never forget.

This video is an hour of most of the ills of history with some senseless act to help. Dominated by the obvious symbolism of the two fireplaces that the two young men gathered in grainy, is a pseudo-documentary footage, this film from beginning to irritating. Do be fooled by the cover that, as I do. This picture is about three times in the film and it means almost nothing. Do not waste your time and money on this off. Its price is the only thing that is of high quality. It isis not very enlightening, lifting, or entertainment. Why bother? "
